Red Hatters

redhat2Red, pink, and purple, oh my! During the month of August, Autumn Ridge hosted two different Red Hat luncheons. On Thursday, August 7th, 18 members of the Pope County chapter of the Red Hat Society trekked to Autumn Ridge to enjoy a wonderful meal of homemade lasagna and take a tour of the facility. The Bloomfield Gals and Pals chapter of the society also joined the residents on Thursday, August 21st and enjoyed a great meal and toured the facility. During their visits, the Red Hatters took the opportunity to mingle with residents and a few joined them for lunch, including Ara Ferrill and Ann Peckinpaugh.

redhat1As a former Red Hat member, Ara Ferrill, took the opportunity to dress in red and decorate her walker with a bright purple boa. “I enjoyed participating with the Red Hats in the past. It was so nice of those ladies to ask me to join them. I just love wearing that red hat,” Ara commented.

The Red Hatters also enjoyed an impromptu piano concert performed by Wilma Mizell. They gathered around the piano and sang to the tunes Ms. Mizell performed. Everyone who attended was very complimentary of the facility and enjoyed visiting with the residents.
